Spotlight: Liz Damrich

Because we are all spending so much time at home right now, I wanted to share a few people who I love to follow and am inspired by, whose work and profiles transport you and are a bit of an escape right now. Up first, interior designer & stylist, Liz Damrich

I was introduced to Liz years ago by a mutual friend and was immediately taken with her sense of style and aesthetic. We did a shoot together in Charleston for Lou & Grey and got to know each other even more. She is exceptionally kind and even chicer in person. I have loved following her for years and even more so right now, as she recently moved into an incredible home and is sharing her design process.

in her words…

Hello! I’m an interior designer and stylist based in the South. After beginning my creative career in NYC and Charleston, my husband and I recently purchased our dream Greek revival historic home on the Gulf Coast with plans to renovate the house back to its full potential. I share bits and pieces on Instagram @liz_damrich along with our little toddler named Gigi who keeps us on our toes!

My philosophy during this difficult time is that I’m trying to embrace the tiny moments in daily life that can elevate our everyday. Anything that you've been saving for ‘a special occasion’ (fancy bath oils, a nice bottle of red, a caftan for summer travel), well—this is a ‘special occasion’ so I’m all for leaning into this fully.

how she’s keeping spirits up…

— Dancing with my toddler as much as possible

— Having a candlelit dinner in various locations around the house to make it feel as though we’re ‘going out’ (the floor of the living room amongst pillows, the outdoor terrace, in the tiny hallway on a cafe table, etc.)

— Leaving all the doors open onto our back porch and playing jazz music throughout the house

— Supporting many local restaurants by ordering curbside pick up when possible

— Actually reading all of those art and interior books instead of spending hours online

— Going on 5PM ‘architecture walks’ through the city and really stopping to admire all of the details in the buildings around us
