weekend moments

Our weekend was equal parts exploring + lounging around at home. On Saturday, I had brunch with Ben, Jen and her sister at The Butcher's Daughter. It was so nice to finally meet Jen as we've been online friends for a long time (but also both went to Syracuse + even interned at the same place years apart!). I love meeting blog friends, especially when you click instantly and feel like old friends!

Sunday was spent roaming around Brooklyn Bridge Park and Brooklyn Heights. I love exploring new neighborhoods and Brooklyn Heights is topping my list of recent favorites. The brownstones are so beautiful and the cobblestone streets are beyond charming.

seeing double

While in LA, Janelle and I showed up dressed like each other every time we hung out. It was totally unplanned and became a running joke. I then came across this editorial from T, and couldn't help but laugh at the timely coincidence. On a sidenote, I'm in love with the styling of this story and the coats are beyond awesome.

RMS beauty

As I've mentioned before, I'm trying to switch to using more natural beauty products and my newest favorite is RMS Beauty. I was first introduced to their products at work and a few friends recommended them, so I decided to give them a try.

I started with the Living Luminizer (per my friend Sarah's suggestion) and immediately loved it. It instantly brightens and illuminates your face wherever you use it. I like to use it on my browbone, in the inner corner of my eyes and along my cheekbones. I then tried their Un-Coverup (shade 11) and their Lip2Cheek and love them as well. The products go on so easily and last all day. I've been using Lip2Cheek in Modest, which is a subtle rosy color. At first it seems like it goes on really bright, but it immediately sinks in and looks like a natural glow. I have yet to try it on my lips, but will let you know when I do!

And to top it off, you're using something free of any harmful chemicals so you can feel better about what you're putting onto your skin. Next, I want to try their mascara!

Into the Gloss is one of my favorite beauty sites and I was happily surprised to see their interview with Jenna Lyons on her beauty routine. It already has me wanting to add a few things to mine, like the Sachajuan Intensive Hair Oil and I'd like to try Aida Bicaj for a facial (also highly recommended here)!

Alice told me about her new site, A Standard of Living, a couple months ago and I've been eagerly anticipating its arrival ever since. It just launched this week and I already know I'll be checking it daily! Expect beautiful photography and styling plus curated essentials for yourelf + home.

The internet was full of profiles of awesome women this week and I also enjoyed reading all about Jessie Randall's (of Loeffler Randall) beauty routine and lifestyle. I loved hearing that she does SoulCycle too!

currently coveting no. 70

Late August is such a strange time - you're still holding onto summer but all the stores are filled with heavy fall merchandise. I'm finding myself coveting more beauty products and accessories that will carry me through the end of summer and into fall.

ONE / I am addicted to weekly manicures at Tenoverten and have also fallen in love with their namesake line of polishes. I currently have Essex on my nails—it's a light gray that looks a bit blue on my skintone—and am now wanting a full bottle of my own. I also cannot recommend their top coat and base coat enough! They are five-free and I'm convinced they are the secret to their mani's lasting well over a week without chipping!

TWO / Clear sunglasses have been high on my wishlist for awhile and I'm loving this new pair from Warby Parker.

THREE / After visiting Serena & Lily's store last weekend, one of these herringbone blankets shot straight to the top of my home wishlist.

FOUR / I've loved Rebecca Atwood's "Waves" pattern since it first came out and I'm loving her newest colorway of it—a white and natural combination that would go perfectly in our apartment!

FIVE / I first saw Helen Levi's ceramic pieces at Space Ninety 8 and immediately wanted one of her cool gilded eye planters

SIX / I kept reading about Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum and how amazing it was so I decided to try a sample of it. After using it daily for a week, I am loving the way my skin is looking. It's softer, brighter and feels more hydrated. I read recently that serums are a category worth splurging on so I think I'll be adding this to my nightly routine.

SEVEN / The softest sweatshirt-sweater combo you'll ever find. A must have for cool summer nights and fall days.

EIGHT / I haven't jumped on the Birkenstock bandwagon yet, but I think these sandals are a perfect way to get the same look. (Also here and here.)

home envy: hudson woods

I came across these homes on Pinterest and my jaw completely dropped. Stunning modern design in a beautiful natural setting? Sold sold sold.

Designed by Lang Architecture, Hudson Woods is a community of vacation homes for design-conscious New Yorkers. There are 26 homes total, all nestled in their own area of land and all built in a similar "glass-and-timber" style. The homes blend seamlessly into their surroundings through huge beautiful windows. After spending a few weekends in this area of New York state, I'd happily vacation in one of these! Now where do I sign up?
