weekend style

Sometimes we all need one of those weekends with no plans on the books and lots of down time. I'm looking forward to spending this weekend exactly like that  sleeping in, reading a few magazines I've picked up and catching up with family and friends. My weekend essentials include a comfortable sweater, great jeans and now, my Daniel Wellington watch. I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it a couple weeks ago and receive so many compliments on it. I love the classic style of it and the rose gold hardware is so beautiful. I didn't think I could love a watch as much as I love this one — I promise you won't want to take it off!

And as a special treat, Daniel Wellington is kindly offering 15% off their site through November 15th with code dreamsandjeans. I also own this men's style which has an oversized face.

the graham & co.

I had mentioned this summer that we were spending a couple of days at The Graham & Co., and am finally getting around to posting photos from our amazing stay. Let me tell you, we had the best time. The Graham is a boutique hotel located in Phonecia, a small town in the Catskills region of New York. It's a quick drive from the city and you are immediately transported into a relaxed mindset the minute you get there. I can't recommend it enoughwe were already planning our next visit before we left!

The hotel itself is minimally designed but also so well thought out. They have everything you need and they even have a little shop inside their reception area. I was obsessed (and impressed!) with all their branded goods from sweatshirts to blankets to fragrances—they had it all.

We spent the majority of our time floating on those giant beanbags in the pool (the best pool float I've ever encountered btw), but we did manage to leave for meals and to take a short hike nearby. Here are our recommendations:

Sweet Sue's — Go here for an incredible pancake breakfast. We were told it was a can't-miss but unfortunately Sue was on vacation while we were there.

Phoenica Diner — Another great breakfast option. Classic diner fare.

Brio's — Delicious pizza, only a short walk from The Graham. Grab a pizza and some wine and bring it back to eat al fresco.

Peekamoose — An upscale restaurant about 12 miles from The Graham. It's run by the same people behind The Gramercy Tavern in NYC.

Kaaterskill Falls — A short and easy hike nearby to a waterfall.

A few more tips:
Rooms book up quickly, but if you follow them on twitter, they often post about cancellations.
This trip is totally doable without a car. You can take a Trailways bus that drops you a short walk from The Graham!

weekend moments

This weekend was perfect. It was equal parts relaxing, productive and full of fun visits with friends. On Saturday I prepped the apartment for a fun little shoot (more details to come) and picked up these beautiful flowers from a nearby florist. I'm so glad I stopped in and I can't stop staring at them!

Yesterday we went to the MoMA to see the Matisse Cut-Outs exhibit and I was absolutely blown away. I'm not a big museum goer but this exhibit had me wanting to stay for hours and stare at all the little details. And to top it off I had an amazing dinner catching up with Jaymee, Rashi and Kristen. It was so fun having everyone meet and immediately connect like old friends. Hope your weekend was just as wonderful!

Oh, hi. Remember me? Things have been more than a little crazy over here so I thought I'd pop in briefly to let you know what I've been up to (à la Janelle and Ann-Marie):

Missing: California sunshine (pictured above). We were in LA last weekend for a wedding and now that it's officially turned fall winter here, I could use some more of that sunshine.

Watching: My favorite little buddy, Marcel the Shell is back!

Coveting: This amazing Zara coat. Need proof of it's amazingness? Here you go. Also, everything from our collaboration with Sézane.

Admiring: Bobbi Brown's gorgeous beach house.

Plotting: My next manicure at Paintbox. Divergent? Basic Instinct? Desert Sands? Midas Touch?

Reading: Brain on Fire. So far so good. I've been reading a lot more lately so I'd love any recommendations you have!

Working: I've been working on a couple wedding freelance projects so I'm anxious to check out this beautiful new wedding magazine, Geraldine. Their first issue is available for pre-order and features Amelia's stunning wedding plus more from Bash Please, Simone LeBlanc, and Moon Canyon.

I can never get enough of other people's beauty faves and I'm now eyeing a few new things since reading about Kate Brien's laidback routine.

I'm trying to get back into weaving and am so inspired by these neutral weavings by Metrode, found via Jessica.

I watched my friend Christie write/illustrate her book, Girl Talk, over the past year and a half and am so excited that it is finally out! I'm so proud of her and the book is fantastic - so hilariously written and her illustrations are amazing. It'll make you laugh out loud - promise.

currently coveting no. 71

This isn't exactly a "currently coveting" list so much as a "look what I might have already bought" list...

ONE / Have you seen Wit & Delight's Target collection yet? I'm so excited for Kate and immediately had to have some of these stoneware trays, which are even more beautiful in person.

TWO / I've been coveting a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag since they came out and finally have one to call my own thanks to Need Supply, Janelle's tipoff and fast checkout skills. It's by far the nicest thing I've ever bought myself and I treat it like it's my child (aka no one's allowed within 5 feet of me + it stays home when there's even a 5% chance of rain). P.S. my other favorite bucket bag.

THREE / One Kings Lane debuted a collection of Pendleton blankets made exclusively for them and I've got my eye on this one. It'd be perfect in our bedroom!

FOUR / You can never have too many notebooks, especially when they're as lovely as this one from Studio Sarah. Her line of paper goods just keeps getting chicer!

FIVE / With the weather getting a bit chillier, it's time to break out the cashmere sweaters. I love this oversized gray one that I'll wear year after year.

SIX / I purchased a pair of Ancient Greek sandals this summer and wore them non-stop. I'd love to add a black pair to my rotation. And how cool are these calf hair ones?

SEVEN / After popping into Zara with Kristen to check out this coat, we both bought it immediately. I haven't been this excited over a coat in a long time and get compliments every time I wear it.

EIGHT / I've been eyeing Daniel Wellington's classic watches for a long time and finally got one (black + rose gold)! It hasn't left my wrist since it came.
