destination: chile

I've never even thought about traveling to Chile, but after hearing about Rashi's amazing trip and seeing Jamie's photos, it's jumped to the top of my travel list. And how incredible does the Tierra Patagonia Hotel look? I think I'd do just fine there - in fact it looks like I could probably just live there forever judging by the interiors! Where are you hoping to visit next? I'm anxious to travel outside the US this year!

weekend moments

How was your weekend? Mine was very relaxing - I spent as much of it indoors as possible! It snowed again on Saturday so I decided to finally buy a curling iron and teach myself to make messy waves. As someone who hasn't touched a curling iron in at least 6 years, I was impressed with how simple it was and was very proud of myself all day. Sorry if I do this every day now (#notsorry).

Over the winter holidays, we ended up back in LA for a few days and while we were there, I decided to surprise G with an overnight trip to Ojai for his birthday. I booked us a room at the Ojai Rancho Inn, which we absolutely loved and could not recommend more. The rooms were very cozy and my favorite part was the bikes they let you borrow to ride around town. There's a great bike trail that follows the main road and you can bike to pretty much everything! I was hoping to see one of Ojai's famous sunsets (where the sky turns incredible shades of pink), but sadly it was too cloudy the night we were there. It's a sleepy little town, but such a relaxing place to visit. It's a short drive from LA but feels so far away. We definitely have plans on going back!

A few recommendations (found via Jessie and Janelle):

Ojai Rancho Inn - cute boutique motel right on main road
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa - upscale hotel with beautiful grounds & spa

Knead Baking Co. - amazing bakery with sandwiches, bagels, salads, etc. (we ate here twice!)
Osteria Monte Grappa - delicious Italian food

Bart's Books - a very special & unique bookstore
Modern Folk Living - beautifully curated home decor shop
Shop Summer Camp -  a cool shop with vintage camping decor & interesting finds
Meditation Mount - best place in town to watch the famous sunsets

ONE / I don't think I'll ever tire of the d'orsay flat and I have my eye on this two-tone pair.

TWO / My winter accessories game is seriously lacking without a classic black beanie and this cashmere one seems to fit the bill perfectly.

THREE / New year, new glasses. I've been coveting these gray frames since trying them on in November.

FOUR / I've been adding little touches to the apartment and some pretty dish towels are on my radar now.

FIVE / I'm on the hunt for a new everyday bag & after seeing the inside of Kathryn's Loeffler Randall Rider Bag, it's shot straight to the top of my list.

SIX / After spying this double ring on my coworker, I've been wanting to add it to my daily ring collection.

SEVEN / Black denim is my new favorite and I'm loving the holes on this pair.

EIGHT / This watch has been on my wishlist for a very long time & I still love how simple it is.

weekend moments

After some casual nudging from a few friends - I'm back! It was great taking a couple weeks off and now I'm ready to get back in the swing of things around here. I took a trip to IKEA this weekend to pick up a few things for the apartment and ended up stopping by the Crate and Barrel outlet. Fast forward to me finding the bar cart I've been dreaming of for 75% off! Sold. We'd been toying with a few different ideas for our entryway (if you can even call it that) and were going back and forth between a bench or a storage piece. When I saw the bar cart, it was instantly decided that it would be the perfect piece.

interior envy

I'm still trying to make my little blog vacation last a bit longer, but I couldn't resist posting this gorgeously simple home in the Catskills. I mean, can you even handle that wood stack in the living room?
