August + September Favorites

Took some time away from the blog for the end of the summer, but I’m excited to be back to it! I’m aiming for new posts every Tuesday so be sure to check back each week! (And if I’m feeling inspired, maybe more than one post a week!)

Here are some of my favorites from August and September—lots of good beauty finds…

JENNI KAYNE COTTON BASIC TEE

I’ve been obsessed with returning to simple, quality basics lately and have been wearing a white t-shirt and jeans most days. I am always reaching for this tee from Jenni Kayne (I also have it in Cream and it’s the perfect off-white). It’s such a great quality t-shirt that has lasted me for over 5 years (!). It washes beautifully and the neck hasn’t stretched out at all. If you’re looking for something similar but less expensive, I also got a few of these Amazon t-shirts—I recommend sizing up (I got a large for a looser fit).

FEWER FINER STRING LIGHTS RING

September marked our five year wedding anniversary and I wanted to signify it with a special piece of jewelry. I landed on this delicate diamond band from Fewer Finer—I love that it has five little diamonds to represent our five years married. I wear it daily stacked with my engagement ring and wedding band. Such a special piece.

LOLAVIE HAIRCARE

I’m not sure where I was last year when Jennifer Aniston launched her own haircare line, but I AM HERE NOW! They just expanded the line to include shampoo and conditioner, which I had been wanting to try something new. After receiving them and loving them both, I promptly ordered the Glossing Detangler and Perfecting Leave-In Conditioner and wow, just wow. I’m beyond obsessed with all of the products—they make my hair so soft, shiny, frizz-free and healthy looking. What else could you expect from the queen of good hair?

MINNA SPARKLING TEA

I’ve gotten super into sparkling iced tea and picked up this Minna Orange Mango tea on our last run to Whole Foods and love it so much. Tastes kind of like a sparkling Arnold Palmer.

EvolveTogether Monaco Natural Deodorant

I gave up on finding a natural deodorant because so many just did not work. I decided on a whim to try this one from EvolveTogether and it has completely blown me away. First of all, the scent, Monaco, is INCREDIBLE. I get so many questions and compliments about what perfume I’m wearing everytime I see people (apparently they are working on making it into a perfume soon!). Second, it actually works! It’s not an antiperspirant so it won’t fully stop you from sweating, but it works way better than any other natural deodorant I’ve ever tried.

JENNI KAYNE CASHMERE OVERSIZED CREWNECK

Such a perfect classic sweater! I have been wearing this sweater nonstop (mostly over my shoulders because, LA). It’s such a nice medium weight and the silhouette and colors are so classic. I’m going to buy the gray one next. Use code ALEX15 for 15% off at Jenni Kayne

amazon hoop earrings

One of my favorite follows, Mally Goldman, recommended these simple gold hoops from Amazon and I quickly purchased them. They’re under $20 and so lightweight; I love how easy they are to wear and work dressed down or dressed up. Silver ones are currently en route to me too!

ZOYA NAIL POLISH IN LUCY

I miss my favorite NYC nail salon so much (Hortus Nailworks) and especially its owner, Jane, for her impeccable taste in polish. She turned me on to Lucy by Zoya and it’s become one of my signature colors that I wear all the time. The trick is to only do one coat for the most natural looking nails.

westman atelier vital skin complexion drops

I have loved everything I’ve tried from Westman Atelier and was so excited when they launched their latest product, Vital Skin Complexion Drops. I don’t wear much makeup, but had been wanting something with a little bit of coverage for events, photoshoots, etc. I never want to look like I’m wearing a ton of makeup so I love that this evens out my skintone while maintaining my skin’s appearance (aka no covering up freckles!) An added bonus is that with regular use, it improves your skin’s texture and firmness.

harney & sons fresh brewed black iced tea

I love iced tea and in an effort to cut back on coffee, I decided to start brewing my own at home. It’s super easy with these iced tea packets from Harney & Sons that are now a regular staple in our house.

oak essentials moisture rich balm

I’ve been slowly incorporating more Oak Essentials products into my daily routine and my newest favorite is the Moisture Rich Balm. I had heard so many rave reviews so decided to finally give it a try. I use it at night and wake up with the softest, dewiest skin! It’s especially amazing going into fall / winter when our skin gets a bit drier. Use code ALEX15 for 15% off your purchase.
