I didn’t mean to take the last couple weeks off of blogging, but life and work were busier than expected! I’ve also been spending a lot of my free time delving back into some favorite hobbies—needlepointing, gardenening and antiquing. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately…

I bought this antique etched glass pitcher when we were back east and it’s my new favorite vase. I’ve been loving having flowers on a weekly basis for a dose of spring.

Over the holidays I got back into my needlepoint hobby and made a ton of progress on this project. The flowers were meant to be light and dark purple, but I am switching them to be white and off-white. The background will eventually be dark brown and I’m planning on making into a pillow. I love this canvas so much and can’t wait to see the finished product! I got it from a shop called Picket Fence—it’s called Marjoram.

Spring garden planning is in full effect and I can’t wait to start sowing seeds soon! I went a little overboard ordering flower seeds from Floret because I’m going to be planting them in our raised bed and also in our side / shade bed. I’m working on a bigger post with more info about that soon!

I finally made it down to Orange, CA—a cute little town with lots of antique stores. There are lots of antique shops to peruse, but my favorite was It’s About Time Antiques, which my friend Aimee recommend to me. They had tons of gorgeous furniture pieces and I’m excited to add it to my favorites list!

Last weekend I did a major closet edit and got rid of so much stuff! It feels so good to look in my closet and have it edited down to pieces I truly love. I’ve been wearing this striped sweater a ton lately—I’ve had it for over 6 years and still love it.

I’m eager to make progress on our house and this flushmount I ordered months ago finally arrived. Unfortunately it came without a piece and thanks to a friend who is a lighting designer, I think we found a solution so that I don’t have to reorder it and wait another 4 months for a new one.

And perhaps the most exciting thing I have been up to is launching my interiors website and business! This has been in the works for a long time and I am so excited to be finally taking on my own clients. You can see more of my work here: www.alexyeske.com
