interior envy

Renting in New York definitely comes with some sacrifices and that usually means a less than stellar kitchen with some pretty bad appliances. I'm dreaming of the day that I can finally have a space of my own to do what I want with. I love the above kitchen from this Melbourne home - it's so bright and modern, but feels warm with all of the wood accents. Here are a few ideas on how to get the look in your own home:

GE shared their new Artistry series of appliances with me and I was pretty impressed with them. I am obsessed with the sleek black options they offer and so wish we could have them in our own kitchen!

Pendant Lamp / Refrigerator / Gold Flatware / Dining Table / Dining Chair / Fiddle Leaf Fig / Dishwasher / Baskets

P.S. You can enter to win a $500 Visa gift card as part of their #blackandwhite contest!

interior envy: emily johnston

I've been crushing on photographer Emily Johnston's NYC apartment since it was first published in Anthology a year or so ago. After seeing photos of her place again in Rue (thanks to Nicole!) I knew I had to finally share it with you all! I absolutely love seeing other NYC apartments and finding new ways to maximize our small apartment. I love her consistent color palette and how serene the colors make the apartment. The light is utterly amazing and makes the apartment feel like a peaceful escape from the city. P.S. Check out her amazing new print shop - Terra Incognita

I might just have to steal her door decorating idea!

homepolish

Have you guys heard of Homepolish? I can't remember how I came across them (probably through instagram) but you definitely have to check them out! Basically, they work to connect you with interior designers to help you with anything from accessorizing your home to doing a full-blown renovation. I've been following along with some of their projects in NYC and I'm obsessed with this apartment they did. I'd happily move right on in! I'll be spending my weekend pretending I live in as beautiful a space as this one. Have a good weekend everyone!
